Compelling Perspectives: Year Two
Identity, communications & event design
Compelling Perspectives is a speaker series that focuses on topics of societal importance and provides a forum for respectful discourse across a range of views. My goal for the series’ second year was to build on the visual identity I developed for its launch—pushing the typography and palettes to reflect the series’ theme for the year, The Role of Media in Contemporary Society.

Traditional Media
I represented the ‘traditional media’ viewpoint using a red, black and white palette (a nod to print media) and built imagery using pictures from television newsroom stages. Graphics feature phrases that speak to disinformation and misinformation—animated to move quickly, as a reference to the fast pace of the media landscape.
Non-traditional Media
The graphics for the non-traditional viewpoint were built using the same base imagery, but treated with colour and texture distortions—to create assets that skewed more ‘digital.’
